Mettler Silk-Finish Cotton 28 is a beautiful, high-quality 100% cotton quilting thread with a slightly heavier weight that makes your stitches part of the design.
Made from 100% long-staple Egyptian cotton, this premium 28wt thread has a smooth, soft feel and a subtle silk-like sheen. The cotton is mercerised to make the thread stronger, more heat resistant and less prone to shrinkage, while giving it its characteristic smooth finish.
Because 28wt thread is thicker than standard piecing thread, use this for decorative machine quilting, hand quilting, topstitching, appliqué and decorative stitching where you want the stitches to be beautifully visible rather than disappearing into your fabric.
