Hello and welcome to The Patchwork Shop!

In case you don't know me, I'm Kim and I'm the owner and founder of The Patchwork Shop. I started my little business as a physical shop in 2017 and loved and adored it, but with the way of the world (via Covid!), everything has moved lock, stock and barrel online.

My love is with bright, modern contemporary fabrics which is what I focus on in this - now - online quilt shop. I only stock high quality fabrics from trusted brand names such as Moda, Michael Miller, Liberty and Riley Blake. You'll find a pretty full collection of Mettler cotton threads, a wide range of Gutermann quilting and embroidery threads, and a selection of notions, wadding and interfacing.

Quilting and Sewing Teacher

My big love is teaching beginners how to sew, how to do patchwork and how to quilt, and I do that here in Gloucestershire, but you'll also find me online on my YouTube channel (Quilt With Kim), on my sister site (also called Quilt With Kim) and guest presenting on Sewing Street (live TV!) - here with John Scott.

Married To Nige and Cat Paw-rent

I'm married to Nige and we live on the Gloucestershire/Herefordshire border in the UK with our cat, Shadow. Nige has now retired from a career in engineering and now makes beautiful natural shaped clocks out of reclaimed wood and slate.

In our spare time, we love to cook, dance (jive) and walking on beaches. I don't do hills and beaches don't have them.

Mum Of Two

My two amazing beautiful kids are both far too grown up now. Sam has always loved cars so he is now a salesman for BMW (he hasn't yet found a free one for his mother), and Charlie is heading to Uni to read Criminal Law.

They are, without doubt, the loves of my life. And make me laugh until tears are running down my face!

An Online Quilt Shop With A Difference

I know I can't beat the big quilt shops on price, although I do work hard to keep my prices competitive. However, I always knew I wanted to create something a bit different and so my vision for the shop is to inspire you and make you smile with my bright, cheerful and contemporary fabrics.  All excellent quality, all beautiful, and even some designer and every order - from one reel of cotton to a bundle of fabric - is sent with personal love and care from me.
