✏️ Pencil Roll Workshop

For Kids Aged 9+ | Thurs 21st August | 10am–4pm | Newent, Gloucestershire

Sew smart. Roll up. Get ready for school!

In this back-to-school special, kids will sew their very own pencil roll — a super fun and practical project they’ll use every day. With pockets for pens, pencils, highlighters (or even secret notes), it wraps up neatly with a tie and looks so good they’ll be itching to show it off in class.

They’ll learn how to:

- Use a sewing machine with confidence

- Sew accurate compartments

- Stitch neat topstitching for a polished finish

- Create structure and shape with layers

- Finish with a pretty wrap tie

So this video is a few years old when I had the physical shop and my daughter was young and (mostly) did things I asked her to...but I still teach the same pencil roll and all kids love it!

🏡 What They’ll Take Home

By the end of the day, they’ll have a handmade pencil roll that’s as useful as it is cool, perfect for storing pencils, pens, paintbrushes, and made completely by them so it definitely has the “show off” factor when they get back to school.

Is this a beginner-friendly project?

Absolutely – it’s ideal for total beginners or children who’ve done one of my earlier workshops.

Do they need their own machine?

Nope – all equipment is provided. But if they’ve got one at home, they’re welcome to bring it along!

Is this a drop-off session?

Yes – you drop off in the morning, and I’ll take care of the rest! You’ll get an update at pick-up with what they made and how they got on.

Can I book siblings or more than one workshop?

Yes! Each workshop is listed separately, and if you’re booking for multiple children or dates, just contact me and I’ll be happy to help.
